Dr Aimee Nasser Karam received her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from St. Joseph University Beirut, Lebanon. She has completed her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy in Pennsylvania, (USA) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Center (OCTC), Oxford University (UK). She is Dialectic Behavioral Therapy trained (DBT), from the OCTC, Oxford, UK.
She is Head of Clinical Psychology at the Medical Institute for Neuropsychological Disorders (MIND) in the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology at St George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC) in Beirut, since 1986. She is a researcher and a founding member of IDRAAC (Institute for Development Research, Advocacy and Applied Care) an NGO dedicated to Mental Health, research, service community and education in Lebanon. She is Professor at Saint Georges University of Beirut, school of Medicine and author of several publications.
She has served as President of the Lebanese Psychological Association (LPA), from 2017-2019 and a board member.
She is one of the founders, has served as President and is currently a board member of “The Third Voice for Lebanon”, association from the civil society, dedicated to promote citizenship, peacebuilding actions, diversity, dialogue and justice.
