Lebanon's Mental Health Plan for War-Impacted Youth & Families
Drawing on over 35 years of experience in research, clinical work, and field operations, the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology at St. George Hospital University Medical Center/Balamand University and IDRAAC have developed a National Mental Health Action Plan for families, children, and adolescents exposed to war events in Lebanon.
The plan outlines immediate objectives to address psychiatric emergencies on a national level and long-term goals such as training field workers to provide basic psychological interventions and screen for the long-term effects of war trauma. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving governmental, national, and international organizations.
