Community-based intervention for older people and people with disabilities

About the Project:
This community-based intervention focuses on addressing the health and protection needs of the most at-risk Syrian refugees and vulnerable host community members in Lebanon, particularly older adults and individuals with disabilities. Through a multifaceted approach, the project combines mental health support, protection services, and capacity-building efforts to improve the quality of life for marginalized populations.
Project Objectives:
IDRAAC, leveraging its team of specialists, implemented a comprehensive range of activities, including:
9. Mental health and social assessments through outreach and clinical teams.
10. Mental health consultations delivered in clinics.
11. Home visits conducted by psychologists, social workers, and outreach workers.
12. Operation of a 24/7 Mental Health Hotline.
13. Organization of awareness and support group sessions.
14. Case management and service referrals for vulnerable individuals.
15. Capacity building for caregivers and humanitarian actors.
16. Distribution of cash assistance, hygiene kits, and absorbent pads.
Where It Was Implemented:
The project targeted vulnerable Syrian refugees and host communities in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and Tripoli regions, addressing critical needs in marginalized areas.
