Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award

In 2011, IDRAAC, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology at St. George Hospital University Medical Center, received the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Best Medical Center in the Arab World during the sixth session of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences in Dubai. This award honors individuals, research centers, and institutions worldwide for their contributions to medicine and the advancement of medical research in the Arab world.
Past recipients of this award include Professor Robert Edwards, winner of the 2001 Hamdan International Award, who later received the 2010 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work in developing in vitro fertilization.
The department was recognized as "one of the leading departments in mental health in Lebanon and the Arab World" for its efforts in advancing research, raising public awareness, and developing educational and training programs in the field. It was also awarded for acquiring "experience that enabled it to become one of the leading departments in this field on international, regional, and local levels."
