Integrated Emergency Response for Vulnerable Populations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon (2024 - 2025)

About the Project:

This project aims to provide critical humanitarian assistance to displaced and vulnerable populations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, responding to their urgent multisectoral needs. Through targeted interventions, the project supports displaced individuals both inside and outside collective shelters, with a specific focus on marginalized groups such as the older people, people with disabilities, migrant workers, and individuals with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

The initiative ensures access to essential relief, including  winterization supplies, mental health and psychosocial support services. Additionally, the project strengthens the capacity of local aid organizations and community-led initiatives to enhance emergency response and long-term resilience​ .

Project Objectives:

IDRAAC, as a key implementing partner, contributes to:

  • Mental health and psychosocial support for older persons outside of collective sites.
  • Winterization assistance, including distribution of winter clothing, blankets, carpets, solar-powered heaters, and solar-powered fans.

Where It Is Being Implemented:

The project targets displaced populations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, and those living in marginalized conditions outside these sites​ .

Impact in Numbers:

  • Winterization Assistance:

    150 individuals received clothing, blankets, carpets, heaters, and fans.

  • Mental Health Support:

    50 older individuals are receiving individualized mental health consultations, with a total of 250 consultations planned.

  • Group Awareness Sessions:

24 groups, each consisting of 10 beneficiaries

  • Psychosocial Support (PSS):

6 groups, each completing 4 sessions (total: 24 sessions)
Each group consists of 10 beneficiaries

This project is funded by the French Crisis and Support Center (CDCS) and implemented in partnership with Acted and other organizations​.

This project emphasizes IDRAAC’s commitment to providing much-needed support while ensuring that vulnerable groups receive the assistance they need.
