Post-Beirut Blast Psychosocial Support

Post-Beirut Blast Psychosocial Support

The aftermath of the Beirut Blast drew immense community support from everyone. Reflecting on a year filled with pain, loss, and tears, our team has worked relentlessly to help alleviate the effects of the communal trauma experienced by all.

The third-largest explosion in the world has had enormous psychological effects on thousands of people. At IDRAAC, we are developing and conducting studies that quantify the short and long-term effects of the blast, alongside other factors such as the pandemic and the economic situation in Lebanon. This research underscores the importance of understanding and addressing the traumatic impact on individuals and communities, highlighting why some people are more affected than others.

One year might not be enough to get over the symptoms of the trauma we all experienced amidst the Beirut Explosion, but through our ongoing efforts, we aim to provide the necessary support and insights to aid in the healing process.
