The Elderly Empowerment Campaign

The Elderly Empowerment Campaign

The Elderly Empowerment Campaign is a key initiative under the Elderly Empowerment Project, developed by IDRAAC in partnership with the Municipality of Byblos-Jbail, with financial support from the European Union. The campaign aims to reintegrate older adults into the community by providing opportunities for volunteer work, employment, and social engagement.

Why It Matters
IDRAAC’s research has shown a strong link between mental health disorders and social isolation among older adults. Social interventions—such as volunteer work, employment opportunities, and community networking—are essential in improving the mental well-being of the elderly.

Nationwide Awareness Campaign
To promote the initiative, a national media campaign was launched in December 2016 – January 2017, featuring:
Billboards across the Jbail area
TV advertisements on major Lebanese channels (LBC, OTV, Future TV, Al Jadeed TV, Tele Lumiere)
Radio promotions (Radio Strike, Radio One, Light FM, Mix FM, Radio Liban Libre, Fame FM)
Social media outreach through the project’s official Facebook page
Newspaper advertisements
